2nd TAAN International Langtang Marathon - 2017

We take pleasure in informing you that TAAN is organizing 2nd TAAN Langtang Marathon 2017 in Langtang Region on April 25 to mark the 2nd anniversary of the tragic earthquake which claimed many lives. The main objective of the event is to disseminate the message through mass media that the Langtang-Gosainkunda region is now safe for trekking.

The marathon will start from Kyanjin Gomba, a popular village in the Langtang Region, and end at Syabrubensi.Kyanjin gompa is situated at an altitude of 3,870 meters in the Langtang National Park of Nepal. It is one of the major attractions of the Langtang Valley Trek and the most popular landmark in the region. There is indeed a small gompa (temple) in Kyanjin and you can easily find someone with a key to open it up for you. The Kyanjin gompa is in dire need of renovation. The race passes through major settlements in the region like Langtang, Ghoda Tabela, Riverside, Lama Hotel, Rimche, Sherpagaun, Khanjim, and Briddim before concluding at Syabrubensi.
